There have been several inquiries concerning the 2007 IDEA Youth Forum that need to be addressed.
Firstly, the organisers have told the Korea Forensics League (KFL) that this event is open to all and that countries are free to send as many teams as they wish.
Secondly, please be aware that there are warnings posted on WeDebate (www.wedebate.org) that say that someone is telling students and parents false information and I have heard first hand that students are being led to believe that if they do not travel with a certain group of people, then they cannot attend. According to my sources this is categorically false and if changes should occur then I will post them on www.wedebate.org and www.parlidebaters.org as they become available.
Thirdly, I would like to survey all interested students and have them tell me which event they would like to attend. Please send me an e-mail (parlidebatecoach@mac.com) with the subject: 2007 IDEA YF, include the names (Hangul, English), student numbers, correct e-mail addresses, and hand-phone numbers for all three members of the team or for each student without a team. Please consider the attached file for more details and topics for the debates!
Finally, at this time, I do not know if I will be available to attend this event because my duties as High School Liaison for the Asia Debate Institute (tentatively scheduled for July 29th-August 5th) will require me to be in Seoul. However I will be processing our students applications and offer training sessions prior to their departure.
